The West Orange Chess Club is saddened to announce the passing of active club member Patrick Falco.
Patrick passed away unexpectedly on June 5th at the far too young age of 26.
Visitation will take place at Scanlan’s Funeral Home on Friday June 12th between the hours of 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
The Funeral Service will take place at Scanlan’s Funeral Home on Friday June 12th from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Patrick was certainly an inspiration to all who knew him, as he faced major physical challenges with a positive attitude that was noticeable to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Special condolences go out to Patrick’s parents Jeanmarie and Ken, who were extremely supportive of Patrick in his desire to play tournament chess as well as in helping him get through the challenges of everyday life.
The 2026 WOCC June Quads, which begin this coming Tuesday June 9th, will be dedicated to Patrick’s memory.
Patrick will be sorely missed.
