The West Orange Chess Club has a page and team on the free chess website lichess.org/ that can be joined by clicking lichess.org/team/west-orange-nj-chess-club. In addition to being a free website Lichess is easy to join in a few simple steps, including creating a username, by clicking lichess.org/signup. Team administrators Andrew Chan (andymanchan@yahoo.com) or Bryan Cohen (bryan6872@aol.com) will have to approve team membership so just include your actual name in your membership request description (should be an option) and/or your profile so we will recognize you and one of us will then approve your membership.
Andrew’s Lichess username is LHXCS_AC and Bryan’s is bloodchessusa. Other club officer usernames are Lev Zilbermintz (BrilliantGambiteer) and Saptarshi Bandyopadhyay (Bengali_Tyger)).
This page/team will hold game events and analysis on occasion, likely on nights when the club is unexpectedly closed or maybe even on non club meeting weeknights or weekends. And in addition a Zoom chatroom may be set up to make it more like an in person club meeting.
Any information regarding an event will be shared on the team’s message board, such as the event announcement, event link and Zoom ID.
